01Introduction and acceptance
These Terms of Service form an agreement between you and the operator of ParentMemo (“ParentMemo,” “we,” or “us”). By creating an account, selecting “I agree,” or using the app, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use ParentMemo.
02Eligibility and parent/guardian responsibility
ParentMemo is intended for adult parents, guardians, and authorized caregivers. You must be at least 18 or the age of majority where you live. You are responsible for having authority to enter information about a child. Children should not independently create accounts.
03Description of the service
ParentMemo is an organizational tool. Features may differ by platform, country, app version, device, or subscription.
- Store school notices and scan selected documents using OCR
- Create reminders and organize schedules
- Store notes, results, and child profiles
- Upload and synchronize selected content
- Receive notifications and access paid features where available
04Account registration and security
Provide accurate, current information. One email address may be associated with one account, subject to supported identity-linking behavior. You are responsible for passwords, devices, and account access. Contact support promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
05User Content and child-related information
“User Content” includes notices, images, OCR text, notes, reminders, schedules, results, child profiles, and other information you enter or upload. You retain ownership. You grant the operator only a limited license to host, process, synchronize, back up, display, and delete that content as needed to operate ParentMemo.
You must have permission and a lawful basis to provide another person’s information. Do not upload unlawful content or content that infringes another person’s rights.
06OCR and automated analysis
OCR can misread text, dates, names, amounts, deadlines, and instructions. Always review the original document and verify extracted information. ParentMemo is not an official source of school information and must not be relied on for emergencies, health decisions, legal deadlines, attendance obligations, payments, or safety-critical decisions. The original notice or direct school communication controls.
07Reminders and notifications
Notifications may be delayed, blocked, duplicated, or not delivered because of device settings, networks, operating-system restrictions, or technical problems. You remain responsible for checking original school communications and deadlines.
08Acceptable use
You may not use ParentMemo illegally; gain unauthorized access; harass or abuse others; distribute malware; interfere with the service; reverse engineer where prohibited by law; scrape automatically; access another user’s account or child information; upload content without authority; or circumvent subscription or security controls.
09Subscriptions and payments
Paid plans may be offered through Apple App Store or Google Play. Prices, billing periods, trial terms, taxes, and features appear before purchase. Subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled through the relevant store account. Deleting ParentMemo or your ParentMemo account does not automatically cancel a store subscription. Refunds follow store rules and applicable law. ParentMemo does not receive complete payment-card details when the store processes payment.
10Intellectual property
The app, branding, code, interface, and original materials belong to the operator or its licensors. Subject to these Terms, you receive a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app.
11Third-party services
ParentMemo relies on Supabase for authentication, database services, and file storage, and on Apple or Google when a purchase is made through their app store. It may also use operating-system services for notifications and on-device OCR. The relevant provider’s terms and privacy policy may apply.
12Service availability and changes
The service may be updated, changed, interrupted, restricted, or discontinued. Where practical, we will provide reasonable notice of material changes. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.
13Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for serious or repeated violations, security risks, fraud, unlawful use, or legal requirements. Data handling after deletion or termination is described in the Privacy Policy.
14Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, ParentMemo is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, perfect accuracy, or that every notification will arrive. Nothing here excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
15Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are liable only for direct, reasonably foreseeable loss caused by our breach. This does not limit liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury where applicable, or any liability or mandatory consumer right that cannot legally be limited.
16Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you will compensate the operator for reasonable losses arising directly from your unlawful use, infringement of another person’s rights, or material breach of these Terms. This does not apply to losses caused by the operator.
17Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated reasonably, the effective date will be updated, and renewed acceptance will be obtained where legally required or appropriate for a material change.
18Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Japanese law. Any dispute will be submitted to a court in Japan that has jurisdiction under applicable law, except where mandatory law requires otherwise. Mandatory consumer rights continue to apply.
